The spread for a loved one is performed by laying out two rows of six cards each. Then, pairs of the same rank that lie diagonally from each other are removed and replaced with new cards from the deck. This continues until the entire deck has been laid out. After that, all the face-up cards are gathered into a new deck, starting from the end, and dealt out in rows again, with diagonal pairs being removed once more. The only difference is that this time, the first row should have five cards, the second four, and so on, down to two cards. Your result will depend on how many pairs of cards remain.
